Today has been travel day and after a very early start I arrived at St Bees in Cumbria, mid afternoon. One major hiccup at the start with my connection from a Hunmanby to Scarborough getting cancelled due to line problems! A massive thank you to Chris and Kaye for bailing me out and driving me to meet the train to Leeds 🤗🤗.
the Leeds to Carlisle route was beautiful with fantastic views of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks as we crossed the famous Ribblehead viaduct. Carlisle to St Bees was equally spectacular as the sun came out to reveal views of the Solway Firth, Dumfries and Galloway and further along the coast, views of the Isle of Man!
St Bees is very pretty and the B&B spot on. Managed a cheeky beer waiting for Steve to arrive - John Smiths!!! Had a lovely catch up and meal and now all prepared for our first day tomorrow.
